Afua Asantewaa has broken the silence following the official declaration of results made by the Guinness World Record regarding her SING-A-THON attempt.
Guinness World Records has officially declared that Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to establish the record for the longest individual singing marathon was not successful.
In a tweet on Friday, February 23, 2024, sighted by NKONKONSA.com, the official response read: “Unfortunately Afua’s Guinness World Records attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon. We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans. The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, so we refunded her payment earlier this month. We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempts.”
Reacting to this via her Instagram page, Afua Asantewaa expressed gratitude to Ghanaian and her fans for their unflinching support towards her SING-A-THON attempt while subtly intimating that the disqualification though she is disappointed, what lies ahead is promising.
Afua Asantewaa assured her fans that she will soon reveal her next course of action after this.
She wrote;
“The news of the outcome of my Sing-a-thon attempt came few minutes as I was preparing to host a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network attended by the President President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. I would announce my next line of action in few days. Thank you all for your love and support.

Afua Asantewaa officially wrapped up her challenge with 126 hours to her name, surpassing the number official 105-hour mark set by India’s Sunil Waghmare, the current Guinness World Record holder.
After 5 days and a few hours of singing over 1000 songs, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has finally received the results for the ordeal she went through and it’s an unfortunate turn of events.
