MY DAD GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE RAP MUSIC WITH A CONDITION – Okyeame Kwame

Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame has disclosed how his dad didn’t stop him from chasing his longtime dream of being a musician.

According to the rapper, Okyeame Kwame wouldn’t be well-known in Ghana if his father hadn’t given him the chance to pursue music.

In an interview with Onua FM, he discussed his musical journey and how he had to drop out of school to focus on his musical career.

No matter how hard he tried to study, he said in the interview, his academic achievement always remained the same, therefore it was nothing to be proud of.

He added that he was inspired to pursue his degree by his beloved father.

“I did the second and third world wars, which are now referred to as resits, multiple times, and it started to resemble a hobby since I was still ignorant despite how many times I sat in class.” “I was doing it for my father, whom I loved, but it came to the point where I started to advance academically, and it wasn’t easy for me,” he emphasized.

“My grandma made a call to his university instructor uncle.” I decided to go and rap in Kumasi while we were waiting in line to complete the registration.

I told my father about my intention to stop going to school and pursue music, and he was quite accepting. Then my dad said that if I commit to going to college someday, he will let me pursue my ambitions. This occurred in 1996, and Akyeame rose to fame in Ghana in 1997, he said.
