I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME ALONE- Shatta Wale Speaks On Ghana Party In The Park Exclusion

Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has opened up to his fans about his unexpected exclusion from the prestigious Ghana in the Park concert that took place in London on Saturday, July 16, 2022, despite being the major performer billed as the show’s headliner.

Dennis Tawiah allegedly pulled the plug on him at the last minute after they verbally agreed that he would use the concert to promote his upcoming Gift of God (GOG) album.

On Good Evening Ghana, he further revealed that his contribution to the aforementioned arrangement was a free performance.

Shatta Wale said: “I was in America, and I called Dennis and told him that they’ve done Party in the Park for the past years, but they haven’t done any special edition. So I’m about to launch my Gift of God (GOG) album, and I want you guys to make a special edition for me.

“This year’s Party in the Park should be Shatta Wale alone. Yes, Me alone as the only musician.”

“I told him that this show that we are about to organize, I want him to take all the proceeds. I don’t need money. But just organize this thing for me so well so I can come with my team and perform.”

According to Shatta Wale, later, he noticed the flier soliciting additional performers, which is not what was intended.

“The day I was supposed to fly, I told him, Dennis, if you want me to come, then you have to give me £100,000.”
